North London Homecare and Support Ltd is Supporting Team Tanya

Team Tanya established following the news that Tanya Harwood Turner was diagnosed with Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia in January 2025. Tanya was born in Harlow and is known to many local people. Her family and friends are very important to her, and have all supported her enormously, since her diagnosis which she is very appreciative of. Tanya worked for North London Homecare and Support Ltd, a local care provider, based

inHarlow. She is very committed to supporting a Team of Adults with Learning Disabilities,
encouraging their positive inclusion in the Harlow area.

This group is known as Elbow Grease. Wanting to create something positive to focus on, in consultation with Tanya, North London Homecare and Support Ltd committed to raising monies for Leukaemia UK, a charity whose mission is to bring together the leukaemia community to find and fund life-changing research. Tanya’s colleagues, her friends and those she supports joined together, to fundraise monies calling themselves Team Tanya.
What we have achieved:

A Team of Adults with Learning Disabilities completed a 6KM Sponsored Walk around The

Bush Fair and Tye Green Circular walk in Harlow on 11th September 2025. This raised
£338.50 The same team organised a cake sale; with so many cakes being donated raised
£186.20. Tiptree based Cakes by Sarah York held cake sales raising £175.00

Local businesses and people including many North London Homecare and Support Ltd
Employees have been extremely generous in donating Raffle prizes. £403.00
Additionally using other donations received, we held a Tombola stall and raised a further
£120.50. Others have made monetary donations totalling £125.00

On Saturday 25th October a Team of 11 staff from North London Homecare and Support Ltd
completed a 10KM sponsored Halloween Walk in London. Tanya loves Halloween and in
respect of this Halloween Fancy Dress was compulsory. We raised a total of £2683.75
Tanya thanks everyone for their support, including the White Admiral Pub – Harlow who held
an event on Saturday 1 st November fundraising £1116.85.

North London Homecare and Support Ltd say a very BIG THANK YOU to the local businesses and all their staff and those that receive our services, their families and friends for supporting all activities in so many ways, from sponsoring people, to baking cakes, attending events and donating items for fundraising.

Together in total Team Tanya has raised a total of £5148.80
